Overview

A website that serves as a task manager by keeping simple tabs while you work online. You can add tabs and name them to keep you organized, as well as change the background color of the website.

Once you are done working, the website does have an interactive forum as well as sections for resources, scholarships, inspiration, upcoming hackathons, and more.

Role: Project Manager, Front-End Web Developer

Date: 2020

Behind the Screen

This was a project for a virtual Hackathon.

The Vision

I built the website specifically geared for tech. students but the main tab/notes functionality can be used by anyone. It has no checklist features and no fancy tools. It is meant to be a tab you have open while you work that you can copy down random notes and add text from your clipboard. It's just enough so you don't get distracted building a five-page list which you realize took you an hour...and now you have one hour less to work or research. But not as bad as having to open that daunting Word Document just to take notes.

The Development

I used HTML for the backbone of the website, CSS for styling and the parallax homepage design, and JS to create the tabs, the forum section, and to update the color of the website.

The Takeaway

This project helped me improve my skills in leading and "selling" an idea as a product owner. I had to demo the project both during the hackathon and in video format, as well as request feedback from stakeholders (in this case the judges) to improve my project. It also helped me work on my skills in Javascript.
