Behind the Screen

This was a project assigned to me as a Web Designer for FIU Online. I was the lead web-developer responsible for building the website within a short timeframe. I worked with the stakeholders and marketing team to ensure the website was accessible and functional.

The Vision

The website mockup with basic elements were provided by a Graphic Designer on the team. However, as the lead web developer on the project I was responsible for providing feedback and bringing up any user experience or accessibility concerns.

The Development

I used HTML, CSS, and JS for the design. The site was built using Cascade and I used PHP (Salesforce on the back end) for the form.

The Takeaway

This was the first website I started from scratch. As the lead web developer on this project I had to work actively with the marketing team and graphic designer to make sure the website would be accessible and to consider any technical setbacks and considerations. Since this was a full website that had to be created within a short timeframe, I had to play an active role with the stakeholders and the leadership team to update them and receive feedback as quick as possible. I also had to work with my web team on any assistance I needed to get the project completed on time.
